I can't this say this is as well-written as it could be, but it seems to make two points. Michael Jaskson never spoke about/for Black people, which was a wasted opportunity. And his career paralleled early hip-hop. I'm not sure that I care about the hip-hop parallels. And I don't know enough about the man to give him a position on the spectrum whose poles are Bill Cosby and Malcolm X. But it's an interesting read nonetheless.
A short update:
- Thru Playin' Round Here is dangerously close to done. I know I keep saying that, but it really is. I've tweaked the master a few times (breaking the once-over rules of mastering, but hey I'm a perfectionist), and I'm happy with this latest version one but it's too quiet again. Didn't have time to fix that yesterday cuz of a Groove-Swing meeting. So tonight that'll be fixed, then I'm done!
- The Union will hence forth and forever more be known as UnioNoMics for now on. We changed the name to avoid conflicts with other people, groups, and companies. And to always be at the top of the google search results.
- Bookmark UnioNoMics.net. Right now there's nothing there, but I promise you a preliminary website will be there very soon, and our full site coming a little while after
- Ron has a beat tape uploaded at theunion.bandcamp.com. It's called Gimme Da Base, check it out.
