So I spent New Years with my fam out in Philly…
The plan was to chill together and set the tone for 09 as two young, black, music executives and a successful, ill chick *shoulder shrugs* lol
After we drove done there, Knowledge took my chick and I into Center City and we partied at this small spot that blasted GOOD hip-hop music. It was MAD fun! I danced with this random chick who was looking bored because all of the guys were hitting on her friend. I tried to break dance (my up-rock is bonkers kid)! I spat game at this dude’s chick while he was trying to get at mine (I wasn’t trying to bag her so shush people daaag). We danced all crazy with a bunch of white people and used my black-burry’s GPS to find the spot where we parked lol…“good times were had by all” (Hey Knowledge! Gimme dat PHRASE FOOL dis a full-time JACK MOVE!)
I also realized that New Years is one of THE MOST opportune times to try and bag a chick…If you’re like me and know that you have personality out the ass and your fresh is ferocious but you’re mad shy when it comes to approaching a female and initiating conversation then continue to read this paragraph (otherwise, you can skip ahead) On New Years Eve the one thing that you can get away with is saying “Happy New Years” with a really excited tone. Usually the chickitie you have your eye on will respond back with the same level of excitement! Then you can take a few routes depending on your confidence, the chick and setting…you can ask her what is it that she wants the new year to bring her? You can initiate an exchange of actions between you and her that respectfully says “hey I wanna dance with you so what’s the deal ma?” You can also say something crazy like “now that the new year is finally here, I don’t feel too weird about these ‘I’m getting mine in 09’ boxers that I have on” lol…but make sure you have those boxers on to back up your word lol. As a matter of fact, don’t do the last one unless you have the wit and fresh to pull that off…(it will induce a smile or laugh out of a chick though ;-))
In the morning we woke up and recorded a song over a Nicolay beat and went grocery shopping…then Knowledge made New Years dinner: Greens (symbolizes paper money), black eyed peas (symbolizes coins/metal money), pork (that’s just for luck) and rice (symbolizes that we’ll do well with the chicketies lol syke nah…he just made rice because he felt it was needed) Then my chick and I made our way back to Jersey and I texted knowledge to tell him to have a slice of this cake he bought earlier so we could be “caking in 09” lol…I had a Little Debbie cake snack (that trick be getting it IN with the baked goods son)
Since New Years I’ve been pretty productive musically, I’ve recorded two tracks and had an artist (Mike da Mad Scientist) come through to my crib from NYC to record a few tracks for his mixtape he rocked over a few of my beats and did da damn thing. Now that that’s done, my music focus is back on the following (in order of project receiving top priority):
